It’s a long time ago since my last post. A lot of things happened and crossed my path.

The last few days in Mumias where beautiful. We started to say goodbye to the people we started loving very much. We organized a send of dinner at EARC which we partly prepared ourselves to. Wonderful to have been part of this crew and we really admire them for what they do. I don’t think this was saying goodbye for good!
Of course we didn’t left EARC empty handed. We made some material to improve the knowledge about child development and rehabilitation services ourselves and have them printed to spread out. Besides that we had the great opportunity to conduct a presentation for several people of different health facilities to show them the results of our research and the recommendations we put up to. Besides that we submitted our papers and received a big 8 for the whole project, of which we of course are really proud!!

The 26th of june it was time to go and leave Mumias after more than 2 months. It was weird and nice at the same time since another great adventure was waiting for us. We left with the same bus that brought us to Mumias, back to Nairobi. Here we stayed for 4 nights to relax and enjoy our first day’s of holiday. We stayed here with mixed feelings since we both had another kind of cultural shock. Everything was so modern, big, fast and expensive to! We missed Mumias, our friends and delicious food very very much! Lucky for us our Kenya mama (sister Berna from our convent stay) was around in Nairobi and wanted to meet us very much. She brought us to the Nairobi convent to eat Chapati and drink milky tea. This was a feeling of “getting home” again which made us a bit more happy again. Though we had this feeling we really enjoyed being in Nairobi again to! Wonderful nights and good breakfasts where very comfortable for us.

After Nairobi it was time to cross the (another) border and go to Tanzania. I was very excited about this adventure! The border itself wasn’t a very nice place. But traveling with a small bus with around 25 people made is easier. Everything was okay, we have our Tanzania visum now and the drive further to Arusha was incredibly beautiful. Totally different nature and views where welcoming us.
The next day we got invited straight away to join a camping trip to Maji Moto, a hotsprings somewhere between Arusha and Moshi. Oh yeah this was already on my wish list so bring it on! A very beautiful place and an amazing experience to begin our journey in Tanzania!
We ended our stay in Arusha with a night out in town. Since we didn’t go out at all in Kenya it was great to have some dance moments again and meeting all kinds of nice people!

The following day we traveled to Moshi with a local bus. Very cool to just use the regular transportation instead of big touristic busses to reach our destinations! Within two hours we were there already after a nice ride meeting a very sweet young and interested girl who talked to me all the way, and another man who offered us to arrange a taxi and even volunteered to bring us himself to be sure we would find the place! The Kilimanjaro is a impressive mountain to see and from our hostel we could see it very good! Our first day we spent on a hike to some beautiful waterfalls and visiting a coffee farm which was a cool experience to! Though the next day I woke up pretty sick after a restless night and kept me on the cough for the whole day. It made me decide not to leave this area to travel long in the bus but go back to Arusha and stay there to rest an if necessary go to a doctor to. Ryo made some really cool plans to go to the coast which made me happy so he can still get all out of it!
I visited a hospital two times where after several tests i seemed to have a Urinary track infection somewhere in or near my kidney’s. After reading about this I started to understand why I feel so sick. Ah well whit a good dosis of medicines now I should be fine soon and able to meet up with Ryo again in Dar es Salaam to travel to Zanzibar!!! I’m excited!

P.s. I put some new photo's in my album to!!! :D
